Nana and 'Best of Cluck' Hosting Grand Openings

Lion’s Animal House Dance Offers 10 Grand

This year’s annual should be a lot of fun if not worthy of some pretty crazy photos. The theme is Animal House which means togas and vine head wreaths similar to Caesar’s all to help raise money for community services.  The Dance is on Saturday night with cocktails at 7 p.m., and New York Steak Dinner at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $135 per couple and that might seem like a lot but someone will walk away with $10,000 by the end of the night. Second place will get $1,500. This event is always a very exciting one because you get to see all the names of people up on the Board as they slowly pull them off throughout the evening. And, with the Time Bandits playing, the dance floor is sure to be filled. For more information, call Craig West at (707) 678-8709.

Hana Sushi Opening Soon

Joy Kim and Tom Cho of Hana Sushi in Vacaville are opening a Dixon location in downtown Dixon and they report that should happen by the end of April. The two have had success in Vacaville for the past two years and, according to their landlord, Robby Robbens, the restaurant is already highly-rated.

In the past two weeks, the old, circular windows were knocked out and large, square windows went in. According to city personnel, the square window frames had actually existed before so no structural changes were needed to the building. It definitely opened up the view and one could see the workers scrubbing down vinyl booths, tables, and serving counters for several days. They are now in the process of painting and a ‘Sushi Cook Help Wanted’ sign is in the window.

On one last note, things are finally coming together for the grocery store in the former location of Hometown Market that will specialize in Mexican products and fresh produce. I spoke with some of the workers this past week that say they are aiming for June to open.
