Well this special place has been around for about four years, they said, but I hadn’t seen it until this past weekend when we were out car shopping and I was amazed. won’t have any idle hands inside its waiting area as they have provided numerous activity tables and brightly colored wall decorations that would please any toddlers or preschoolers.

Which reminded me of my annual ‘State of the Children’ shopping report. I like to take note and give kudos to those local businesses that provide an area—albeit small—for children of the customers. Our society doesn’t necessarily encourage stay-at-home mothers but I do—and many agree—that teaching children to behave while out in public is part of important social skills training.

Having a small desk or chair with books nearby or a manipulative toy atop a table is a God-send to a mother whose trying to do a bank transaction, buy postage stamps, or check out at a cash register or service counter. You’ll see my report here soon but know that Ron DuPratt Ford has gone the extra mile (excuse the pun) and deserves credit!

Speaking of Kids…

After taking the West A Street exit this past week, I was quite taken by a very large herd of goats. They are chomping down a ‘failed’ crop and according to a good 4-H/FFA student I know (my son), this is what a lot of farmers will do when, for whatever reason, their planted crop does not come in well. The Farmers will lease the crop out to goat farmers.
