Epicurean Fete, Nature Walk and Prawn Feed on Tap for This Weekend

There are plenty of things to do in and around Dixon this weekend. Here are some highlights:

--- The 5th Annual Epicurean Fete is a celebration of fine food and drink. With many distinguished wineries, and superb culinary establishments present, Dixon is in for the most spectacular evening of the year. Raffle items will include tickets for the 49ers, a 60-foot, four-hour private yacht cruise for up to eight with food & wine on the Delta, two-night stay at the Hyatt Regency Monterey, Hotel & dinner at the Silverado Country Club in the Napa Valley, Golf Outings at Yolo Fliers Club & Yocha DeHe, and much more. Tickets are $20 presale (available at the ) and $25 at the door. The Epicurean Fete is 6:30-9:30 p.m., at the (Madden Hall).

--- Saturday is the perfect day for some shrimp! The Dixon Volunteer Firefighter’s Association is hosting their Annual Prawn & Ravioli Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at the .  Tickets are $35 each and include all you can eat prawns & raviolis.  Ticket purchase enters you into a drawing for a $300 door prize, and additional raffle tickets and prizes are available.  No-host cocktails begins at 6:30 p.m., and dinner is at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are still available.  If anyone is interested, please contact Andi Horigan at the Dixon Fire Department, 707-678-7060.

 --- Looking for a way to get some fresh air, exercise and to enjoy nature? Enjoy a walk on the wild side this Sunday, 10 a.m. to noon, at the Courtyard next to the Nature Center on the west side of Lake Solano Park, 8685 Pleasants Valley Road in Winters. Watch for wildlife, enjoy beautiful views and get fresh air and exercise. The public tour is free, and parking is only $5.
