Dixon Patch Turns 1, Emigh's Market Grand Opening, Crafter's Fair Highlight Weekend Activities

Whether it's helping us celebrate our one-year anniversary or taking in some holiday fun, there are no shortage of fun things to do in and around Dixon this weekend.

Here are some highlights.

Dixon Patch Birthday Party -- We launched The Patch a year ago and what a ride it's been. Come by the Dixon Chamber of Commerce office, 220 North Jefferson Street, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., Friday to help us celebrate this milestone. Coffee and pastries will be served plus a few surprises!

Emigh's Market Grand Opening -- Also on this Friday is the Grand Opening for Emigh’s Meat Market at 1660 North Lincoln, Suite A. There will be free samples, a barbecue, and a drawing for a free leg of lamb during the day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Soroptimists' Holiday Crafter's Fair -- The 45-member Soroptimist Women’s Service Club of Dixon is adding to the excitement of the holidays by organizing a Crafter’s Fair to the Downtown Dixon Holiday Open house on Saturday, November 19. The crafters and vendors will fill St. Peter’s Parish Hall with vendors from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost for the Soroptimist Christmas Boutique is $15 and includes a buffet lunch with proceeds going back into the community.

Dixon Boat Club Annual Dinner-Dance and Raffle -- Come join the fun Saturday at the Dixon May Fair as the Dixon Boat Club hosts its annual steak dinner-dance and raffle.No-host cocktails begin at 6 p.m., dinner is at 7:30 p.m., and the dance starts at 9 p.m., with entertainment by Charlie Baker. Dinner tickets, donation of $35 per person can be purchased from Bob Dohr (707) 580-5803. Top raffle prize this year is $2,500 cash! Raffle tickets are $1 apiece or six for $5, and are available for purchase from any boat club member or by calling Bill Griffith at (530) 662-7657.

Downtown Dixon Holiday Open House -- This weekend is the Holiday Open House with many of the merchants offering refreshments or specials for Christmas shoppers into the evening.

annual Holiday Fantasy will start Saturday, at 3 p.m.—a little earlier than traditional. The Dixon Florist will offer music and refreshments until 7 p.m. and will open on Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. again. will offer free photos with Santa on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. also at the Dixon Florist.
