Dixon Lions Club Joins the Chamber of Commerce

In it's 54th year as a Dixon charter, the Dixon Lion's Club joins the long list of Dixon Chamber members.

The Dixon Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Dixon Lions Club Tuesday morning with a "95.3 KUIC Coffee Break" radio shout out. Club representatives Val Duprat, Rich Bedoya, and Craig West were in attendance to to cut the red chamber ribbon.

Although the Lions Club is in its 54th year, they've made the move to join the Chamber member list, like many other community charity organizations.

"By joining they are able to advertise in our newsletter, sell tickets through the Chamber and have all of the networking benefits our business members have," says Chamber President Carol Pruett, "We have special non-profit rates for charity groups to join; Rotary, Moose Club, and Relay for Life are just a few of our non-profit members."

"The Lions Club is a  community support organization," says 20-year member DuPrat whose favorite part of being a member is hosting fundraising events, "every dollar we raise goes back into the community in some form."

Mayor Jack Batchelor was in attendance to welcome the club to the Chamber, and thank them for their services to the community, "Service clubs like yours represent a number of business members in this town, you are what our town is all about... these charity services really benefit Dixon."
