Dixon Family Services Hosts Fundraiser to Get Thrift Store Up and Running

Dixon Family Services to host a fundraiser rummage sale, hoping to raise enough money to open their Dixon Thrift Store in October. Donations wanted.

UPDATE — The Dixon Thrift Store reports a rental agreement has been signed with the 409 N. Adams Street location, and hopes to open as early as October, depending on their ability to make purchases need.

With funding still needed to purchase store necessities including a cash register, shelving, counter-space and more, Dixon Family Services will be hosting a rummage sale Wed., Oct. 16.

Shoppers will find the parking lot full of household items, clothing, books, toys and more in the parking lot located at 155 North Second Street.

“A lot of people have expressed their interest in volunteering for the thrift store project and we will be reaching out to schedule them in the coming weeks, but we do need all the help we can get on Wednesday morning to do the parking lot sale.” said Cookie Powell. 

Anyone who has items to donate for the parking lot sale, would like to volunteer, would like to donate thrift store items needed or funds to be used for the Thrift Store expenses should contact Cookie or Rich at DFS 678-0442
