Dixon CVS Allegedly Under Fire for Missing Pain Pills

The local pharmacy is among four probed statewide for possible violations of the federal Controlled Substance Act, according to a news report.

Federal officials are reportedly investigating four CVS pharmacies -- including one in Dixon -- for tens of thousands of pain pills that allegedly have gone missing, according to a March 10 story in the Los Angeles Times.

A DEA agent in the San Francisco office said warrants were served on four California CVS stores last May, but declined further comment, reported LA Times columnist David Lazarus.

The other stores are in Fairfield, Turlock and Modesto, the news report said.
