Business News: Heritage Commons Senior Housing to Open Soon

Patch will periodically tell readers about businesses that are opening and closing in Dixon.

Dixon residents over age 55 will soon have a new housing option.

Heritage Commons, an affordable senior housing community, will open in late spring at the corner of South First Street and Valley Glen Drive in Dixon.

The location was formerly home to the old Bloom Farmhouse, Patch reported. The farmhouse was demolished May 2012 to make room for the senior housing development.

Heritage Commons rent starts at $394, according to a news release, and the floor plans include roll-in showers, highly insulated for low energy bills and patios on ground-floor apartments. The community features elevators, laundry rooms and is near open spaces, walking trails and community gardens.

For more information on Heritage Commons in Dixon, visit their website at www.npllc.org/blog or call 916-561-0323.

If you know of a new business opening its doors or an established business that is calling it quits, let us know by sending an email to dixon@patch.com.

Dixon needs a Hospice space..... This would be a great place to do it.
