Alhelis Drive Through to Open in August

Jumbo CD Investments Celebrates 20 Years

You’ve might have seen the sign, “Alhelis” on West A Street as you’re heading toward I-80 and in front of the building that used to house Kentucky Fried Chicken and the A & W Root Beer business. Before you get locked into the wrong pronunciation of this soon-to-be local fast food place, think of lilies, as in the flowers. It’s not Hawaiian but Hispanic and is pronounced just like one was saying, “a Lily(s).”

We got a sneak peak and did notice beautiful white flowers painted inside.

You might have wondered what “Burgers, Burritos, and Pastrami” might have in common and owner Mark Sanchez who has worked in the restaurant industry a combined 15 years will tell you he’s aiming to attract customers with offering a variety similar to the ‘Texas Road House—only drive through,” the Dixon resident said.

“We’ll offer a little bit of everything,” he added. Currently, the businessman is working nearly non-stop inside the place since the outside is finished.  He’s waiting on equipment and a few more inspections but he’s hoping to be open by the end of August. They are located at 2500 West A Street.

In other news, Troy Steven’s has a new neighbor. The brand new building next door that went vacant for too long, was finally snatched up by Dixon resident and businessman, Mike Morse.
