Dixon Goes Pink For the Month of October: Here's a List of Breast Cancer Awareness Specials Around Town

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in California; Solano County has a higher than state average rate of the disease. Join as the community floods with pink specials throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Free Breast Screening for Uninsured Women

Saturday, Oct. 19, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Sutter Davis Imaging, 2020 Sutter Pl., Suite 102, Davis, CA, 530-747-5030

To qualify for the free screening, women must be uninsured, 40 years or older and call in advance. Space is limited.

Women will receive their results from Sutter Davis Imaging within several days after their visit. Sutter Davis Imaging will connect women who have an abnormal result to local not-for-profit agencies with which Sutter regularly partners so patients may take next steps and receive follow-up care.

Gearing Up For a Sea of PINK

Guys and gals, we hope you will join us on Friday, October 25th for the inaugural Project Pink 5K at Putah Creek Winery in South Davis.

Project Pink and the Breast Cancer Diaries is a non-profit organization designed to provide help, support, inspiration and hope to young women diagnosed with breast cancer. The inaugural Project Pink 5K Run/Walk will take place in Davis, CA where our very own Ann Murray-Paige, co-founder of Project Pink and author of “Pink Tips”, resides . The run/walk start and end at beautiful Putah Creek Winery.
