UPDATE: Accused Winters Murderer Reportedly In Custody After Standoff In Vegas Home

As of 11:30 p.m., Gardner was barricaded in a Las Vegas home with a woman and small child, reportedly in a standoff with police since 6 p.m. after calling CBS News in Sacramento to vent. As of 4 a.m. Tuesday Gardner was in custody.

William Gardner III, accused of killing his ex-girlfriend in Winters last month, reportedly barricaded himself in a Las Vegas home with a woman and three-year-old child Monday night, finally surrendering to police in the early hours Tuesdag morning. 

Editor's Note: Original breaking news stated that the woman and child were held hostage, reports are conflicting, with some saying they are not being held against their will.


According to CBS13, the suspect entered a home on Monday night around 6pm and called their newsroom, speaking with a police negotiator and reporter, Derek Shore, to explain his circumstance.

Fox5 Las Vegas news reported that a police standoff continued as of 11:20 p.m., at the Camden Apartments complex located at 4800 E. Tropicana Ave. near Mountain Vista Street. 

As of 4 a.m., Gardner was reported in custody  with no report of injuries.

A nationwide man-hunt for Gardner has been ongoing since his ex-girlfriend, Leslie Pinkston, was shot and killed in Winters on Nov. 19, while sitting in her vehicle.
