The Dixon High School Rams football team ended their regular season with a lopsided victory over Mesa Verde High School in Citrus Heights Friday night.
Both teams came into the game with nearly identical winning records. The final score was 39-7. The Rams might've had yet another touchdown in the final seconds but chose the sportsmanlike option of taking a knee.
In the opening play of the game, the Rams intercepted a Mesa Verde pass, running it back for a touchdown. Following that, Mesa Verde mounted a long running drive, ending with their own TD.
But after that, the Rams stopped an further Mesa Verde TD drives.
The game was intense, and several personal fouls were called when players had a little more contact than the rules allow.
Included here are 38 photos from the game. They are in the same sequence as when they were shot. They were taken with a Canon DSLR with the ISO set at 3200. 13-55mm and 75-300mm lenses were used.
I presume that now the Rams will be playing in some regional elimination games?
