'Moneyball' on Top of Dixon's Redbox Rental List This Week

America loves baseball, and apparently they also love baseball movies. The film "Moneyball" starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill seems to satisfy Dixonites' love of America's pastime, becoming Dixon's top Redbox rental for the week.

Haven't seen this film, don't know why I skipped it. I love baseball, like the A's (I'm a Giants fan), and love movies as well. It just slipped through the cracks. But reviews are telling me that I need to get this film.

On the movie review aggregation site Rottentomatoes.com users of the site gave the film an 88 percent freshness rating. The fresher the rating of the movie, the better it is.

It seems that critics were in love with this film; they gave it a 95 percent freshness rating. The movie is based on a true story.

Despite having the lowest payroll in major league baseball, the 2002 Oakland Athletics were led to an excellent season by general manager Billy Beane, who upset traditionalists by using statistics and mathematical analysis in player evaluation.
