Celebrate Smokey Bear’s Birthday at Lake Solano

You’re invited to Smokey Bear’s birthday party!  Come to Lake Solano on Saturday, August 6th. The family fun starts at 10am and lasts about an hour.

It will be a morning full of exciting, hands-on activities. Children and the young at heart will be delighted to meet Smokey in person, and all ages will be excited for a firefighting “show and tell”. This show and tell will include a fire engine, how to stop, drop and roll, and maybe even how to squirt the fire hose.

Lake Solano is located 4 miles west of Winters, just off State Highway 128

Smokey Bear has been a part of our parks for so many years it’s hard to remember when he first appeared.  Dressed in a ranger’s hat, belted blue jeans, and carrying a shovel, he has been the recognized forest fire prevention symbol for over 50 years.  Today, Smokey Bear is one of the most famous symbols in the world – the guardian of our forests.

Pledge to "Get Your Smokey On" and do your part to prevent wildfires. Learn more at www.smokeybear.com.
