Do You Have Any Local Memories of Jon Pardi?

The Dixon local has made a name for himself in Nashville, but he's coming home for the Dixon May Fair. Will you be there?

Dixon boy and country recording artist Jon Pardi will play in front of his home-town crowd at the upcoming Dixon May Fair. His set is Friday, May 10.

Pardi grew up playing music in the Dixon area before heading to Nashville in 2009. He now has a record deal with Capitol Records and has opened for the likes of Alan Jackson, Dierks Bently, and Dwight Yokum.

The concert scheduled for 8:00 p.m. on Friday night, will be free with admission, and will be held on a new stage in an area being developed for music and entertainment.

The Dixon May Fair is taking a new look at the 2013 entertainment line-up and will focus on regional and local bands this year rather than the national big-name entertainment that came with big price tags in years past. Plans are underway for some exciting new entertainment in the Grandstands. A CCPRA sanctioned bull riding will be held on Friday night and powerful hot rod truck and tractor pulls have been added to the Saturday night line-up. The annual sell-out Destruction Derby is a tradition that will return on Sunday night as the Fair comes to a crashing conclusion. "We are looking forward to an action-packed line up and bringing in some new events that we have had a lot of interest in," says the CEO. Grandstand events will require a ticket in addition to Fair admission.

The Fair will focus on providing an entertainment value for the families, youth and seniors with a well-rounded line-up of entertainment. An Extreme K-9s dog performance show has been added, a classic car show is planned, clowns and entertainers will stroll the grounds, and a fun train will take guests from one area to the other. Visitors will be treated to old-fashioned fun like the Hog Hollering Contest but can also relax with a glass of fine wine. "We will have some top-notch bands on the Leber Garden Stage," says Conklin. "We want our guests to have a wonderful time at an affordable price, to enjoy good music, the exhibits and livestock barns, have some great Fair food, and remember how much fun it is going to a country Fair!

The 138th Dixon May Fair will be held May 9-12 at the Fairgrounds in Dixon, 655 South First Street. For more information visit www.DixonMayFair.com or call 707 678-5529.
