Dixon Weekend Planner August 26-28

From an Earthquake Festival to Shane Dwight and his roots music blues to Dixon's very own 9th Annual Wine and Art Stroll, we've got you covered this weekend.

Friday:

Join the Winters Community for the 2011 Earthquake Festival. Come for the great food, arts and crafts, street vendors, rockin' music and street dancing that goes well into the night. There will be bounce houses for the kids as well as performances and other fun activities. This Main Street fair commemorates the rise of the city of Winters out of the Great Earthquake of 1892 and if you've never attended an Earthquake Festival, here's your chance.

If you go: This free event is from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Winters.

The CreekWalk is a place for everyone to have fun and relax in a community setting. Enjoy music, sun and fun with friends and family while surrounded by a beautiful park setting. Vendors are available who provide cold drinks, food and desserts, and sponsors, organizations and other exhibitors display information about themselves. This week’s entertainment comes courtesy of Northern California native, now Nashville-based, Shane Dwight. Shane Dwight is a young American Roots Music artist for the 21st century – a killer blues player who can rock the house all night long with the best of them, and an introspective singer-songwriter whose voice rings true at alt-country, Americana, R&B, and flat-out Rock N Roll. There is no pigeonhole for Shane Dwight, and no single corral can hold this bucking bronco. Shane’s talent is so fierce and his inspiration so strong that his music draws in equal measure from classic blues and urban R&B, from alt-country and modern rock without compromising his integrity or missing a beat.

If you go: The free and awesome show is from 6:30 p.m. to 9 :30 p.m. at Andrews Park, 718 E. Monte Vista Avenue in Vacaville.
