The first day of the May Fair was pretty quiet as people are perhaps holding out until the weekend to visit the fairgrounds.
The gates to the May Fair opened at 10 a.m., and after 3 p.m., only a few seemed to be walking around enjoying the food and attractions. As with each yearly fair, there was plenty of stuff to do.
Fairgoers had a plethora of food choices to munch on, live music acts to listen to, many rides to seek a thrill on and of course, the livestock to gaze at.
Temperatures soared into the upper '80s today, and the pollen in the air made it difficult for everyone who suffers from allergies.
Nonetheless, every Dixonite knows that this is the right time to go to the fair-- when the crowds are not so large and you can basically have the fair all to yourself.
