Storm Over Dixon Strings Street Branches, Trees

Don't put away your umbrella--we've got another 10 days of rainy weather ahead. Last night's storm tore up trees throughout town, some from their bases but many trees just had branches shredded off.

One tree toppled into the baseball diamond fencing and smashed a bleacher inside the old Dixon High School football field and an awning above Paradise Tan was ripped apart. The awning above Robben's Department Store also caved but managed to miss shattering the front windows. The largest tree spotted down was at the corner of Sycamore and Alderglen streets where a giant Ash fell--fortunately-- toward the street.

Otherwise, branches littered neighborhood streets from the winds that were forecast at 20 to 30 mph but had gusts 40 to 50 mph but decreasing gradually this morning. This week will be continued rain, showers, then more rain. This is a reminder to check nearby storm drains and clear away rubbish.
