Good News: Community Rallies for Dixon Woman Battling ALS

Christa Emmons is battling with Lou Gehrig's disease. Dixon Patch featured a story from the Vacaville Reporter last week, and the community has responded. See how you can help too.

In a story featured on Patch last week, readers got an inside look at a family struggling with ALS, asking for help.

Christa Emmons shared her story of how Lou Gehrig's disease has made her feel imprisoned in many ways, and how a wheelchair van would restore some of the freedoms she has lost.

The Dixon community heard her request and is responding in a big way.

-An online auction has been set up for users to both post things they would like to donate and bid on items they'd like to purchase.

-Team Christa shirts are being sold to raise money here.

- A Go Fund Christa Emmons Facebook page features a collaboration of fundraising efforts, including an event hosted by Algood Ink Tattoo Shop in May that helped raise $1500. Way to go Algood!
