Secured property tax bills in the mail

Property tax bills are in the mail and property owners need to note a change in this year's tax bill. The address to send the payment check has changed.

"To improve operational efficiency, tax payments are being handled by a processing center in San Francisco," said Solano County Tax Collector Charles Lomeli.

The payment coupon is addressed to and should be mailed to the Solano County Treasury; P.O. Box 7407; San Francisco, CA 94120-7407.

A total 134,647 secured property tax bills for the 2013-2014 tax year have been mailed. Lomeli anticipates collecting $496,538,610 in taxes on behalf of public agencies operating within Solano County.

Secured property tax bills are due and payable in two installments.  The first installment is due Nov. 1, 2013 and is delinquent if not paid by Dec. 10, 2013. The second installment is due by Feb. 1, 2014 and is delinquent if not paid by April 10, 2014.

If you wish to view or pay a tax bill electronically online, visit the Solano County website atwww.solanocounty.com and select Property Tax Information and Payments under the Services tab.

The tax collector points out that failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer of their obligation to pay property taxes.  If you own property in Solano County and have not received your 2013-2014 secured tax bill by Nov. 1, 2013 contact the Tax Office for additional information at TTCCC@solanocounty.com or at (707) 784-7485.
