Dixon’s Force of Habit Takes First in SF Battle of the Bands

They competed against other bands at DNA Lounge in San Francisco Sunday.

A heavy metal band from Dixon was crowned the winner of Battle of the Bands 2013 held at DNA Lounge in San Francisco over the weekend.

Four-member band Force of Habit competed against bands from the area in the battle and took home the grand prize Sunday, Jan. 20 — $500 in cash and prizes, 20 hours of studio time and a headlining gig at DNA Lounge.

According to Force of Habit’s Facebook page, they competed against 50 other bands and earned first place.

Judging for the Battle of the Bands was based on audience applause at the end of the show, according to DNA Lounge’s website.

Force of Habit was also named best band in Dixon during Dixon Patch’s readers choice contest.

Brothers Ryan and Dominic Mendisco and their neighbor Dakota Binninger formed the band in February 2011, Dixon Patch reported. The current lineup of Force of Habit includes guitarist Brazjae Georges, drummer Ryan Mendisco, bassist Dakota Binninger and guitarist/vocalist Dominic Mendisco.
