Dixon Firefighters Battle Small Brush Fire

The Dixon Fire Department responded to a report of a small brush fire this afternoon, contained it within five minutes.

 

Dixon fire crews battled a small brush fire along Midway Road this afternoon.

At about 12:43 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a home on the 5000 block of Midway road in response to a report of a out of control, conrol burn.

The control burn was inside a irrigation ditch. The flames spread into some dryer grass surrounding it, according to the Dixon Fire Department. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire within five minutes of their arrival.

Flames burned about an acre and a half of vegetation; no injuries were reported and no structures were in immediate danger according to the department.
