Baldo's Mexican Restaurant Getting Rave Reviews

Vacaville Owners Take Over 'Genesis' Location Downtown

An owner of a popular Mexican food restaurant in Vacaville, Fairfield, and Vallejo has opened a branch in downtown Dixon just recently. Signs on the window at 158 North First Street still say it is 'Restaurante Genesis' but Baldo's Mexican Restaurant is already getting some great reviews from the locals.

One woman in Safeway raved about the restaurant's carne asada fries and said that the food was fresh and authentic. The company is owned by Armando Castro, who is closing the Vallejo location and wanted to replace it. He thought that Dixon would be a good location because it is near the Davis University.

The former owner of Genesis Restaurante that had been at that location for one year is relocating her busiiness to West Sac for a bigger population.

"The move to West Sac is good for me and this is a good move for them," said Dulci Ascencio. "Everyone has their own clients and like my Dad says, the sun comes out for everyone. [Dixon] wasn't bad but it's just a small town."
